The values that guide how we work
We don't just hang our values on a wall. They show up in how we hire, how we roster, how we handle hard moments — and how we celebrate the good ones.
Care & Compassion
We listen first. Empathy isn't optional — it's the foundation of everything we do.
Respect & Dignity
For participants, for families, and for each other. Always, and without exception.
Honesty & Integrity
We do what we say we'll do. Tough conversations are handled with directness and care.
Safety Culture
Safe for participants. Safe for staff. We don't trade one for the other.
Ready to do work that matters? We'd love to hear from you.
What qualifications do I need to work at Royalty Healthcare?
It depends on the role. Most support worker positions require either a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or relevant experience plus a willingness to complete it during your first 12 months. Clinical roles require AHPRA registration. Coordination and behaviour support roles typically require relevant tertiary qualifications.
All staff need a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid & CPR, and a willingness to complete our paid induction program.
Can I apply if I'm new to disability or NDIS work?
Absolutely. Some of our best people came from completely different industries — hospitality, retail, aged care, teaching, parenting. What matters most is the right attitude: empathy, patience, reliability and a genuine desire to make a difference.
If you’re new to NDIS work, our induction, mentor program and ongoing training will get you up to speed.
Do I need an NDIS Worker Screening Check before I apply?
You don’t need it to apply — but if you’re offered a role, you’ll need to obtain one before you start your first shift. The check is free for NDIS workers and we’ll guide you through the application process.
What does the typical recruitment process look like?
Once you apply, you’ll typically hear back from us within 5 business days. The full process is:
Online application and CV review
Short phone screen with our People & Culture team
Interview with the relevant team manager (in-person or video)
Reference checks and NDIS Worker Screening
Offer, induction and welcome to the team
From application to offer, expect around 2–3 weeks. We’ll keep you informed at every step.
What types of employment are available?
We hire full-time, part-time and casual staff. We also offer flexible shift patterns including day shifts, evening shifts, sleepovers, active overnight shifts and weekends. We’ll work with you to find a roster pattern that fits your life — within the realities of participant rostering.
Is training paid?
Yes. All mandatory induction training is paid at your normal hourly rate. Ongoing professional development, NDIS-specific modules and high-intensity skills training is also paid where attendance is required.
I have lived experience of disability — is that valued here?
Hugely. Lived experience — whether your own, or as a family member or carer — brings a perspective that’s deeply valuable in this work. We actively welcome applications from people with lived experience and consider it a strength.
